  1. C.A.R.R.S  "Night.EXE" For Volume 1 
  2.  
  3. The disc contains 12000 (IBM) zip files.  These zip files have from 1 to
  4. 150 files with-in.  The files may be something as complex as QMODEM4(c) or
  5. as simple as a single text file with someone's opinion about anything. 
  6.  
  7. The Night program list all the files for you to view on the screen and
  8. gives you the Name of the directory they are located in on the top line
  9. of the file listing. As you are scanning the list for files and you see 
  10. a program you would like to have copyed or would like to look at all you
  11. do is hit the HOME KEY and it will take you to a shell program and follow 
  12. the instructions and then copy your file and when you finish type EXIT
  13. and you will return to the program to continue the file listing.
  14.  TO USE THE Night PROGRAM:
  15. 1.)  Night can be started from the CDROM root directory or put into the path
  16.      and run from any drive/directory in the computer. 
  17.           *  When run from the CDROM root directory, simply type: Night
  18.           
  19. 2.)  After the program has been started, a menu of the categories will be 
  20.      presented.  Use the ARROW KEYS and the HOME/END to scroll through the 
  21.      files
  22.  
  23. 3.)  After you seen a file you like, press HOME. you will see more instructions
  24.      to help you on this part of the program.
  25.  
  26. 4.)  After you exit back, you can contiune to BROWSED or SEARCHED.
  27.           *  To BROWSE the catalog, simply use the PageUp and PageDn keys
  28.              to move between new/old screens of files.  Use the UP and DOWN
  29.              arrow keys.

  31. 5)   You will also find a file called List72a.zip in directory 030A that is
  32.      public domain that you can configure use for reading docs and unarcing
  33.      files below will give you a brief example on how that program works you
  34.      get the file of the Cdrom and unarc it on to your drive and the type 
  35.      list and then read the docs and config it to your spec.  
  36.      (EXAMPLE: List INSTRUCT.DOC.  In most cases the command would be
  37.      LIST INSTRUCT.DOC).
  38. NOTE:
  39. Running a .exe or .com file via NIGHT is not always the best choice.  If the
  40. desired program requires a command line input the program will try to run,
  41. fail and return to the dos prompt.

  43. DISCLAIMER FOR NIGHT.EXE 
  44. NIGH.EXE is offered as a help utility, specific to C.A.R.R.S Volume 1
  45.  It is not offered as an integral part of the disk.  It has been
  46. tried on 486's with EGA screen and XT's with non graphic monochrome screen. 
  47. It has worked as it should on all of them.  If it does not work on yours,
  48. please contact us so we can debug it for the next volume. 
  49. It is offered for your use as is.  We do not warrant it in any way.  The
  50. user assumes full responsibility for results when using it.

  52.  The night program is going to be reworked for the next volume release were
  53. all the functions of the shell will be done on a internal part the program
  54. that will allow you to config it to your system 
  55.  
  56.  To our knowledge we have no commercial or copyrighted software on this CDROM.
  57. All of these programs have been uploaded to our BBS by private individuals. 
  58. These programs have been scanned for virus contamination. However, no absolute
  59. guarantees are made or to be infered.
